24th February - 28th Feburary 2027
We are excited to introduce the Great Southern Stampede 2027, our first adventure event in the beautiful Peel Forest region of the South Island. Many of you may already know about our other event, The Great Northern Gallop, which takes place in the beautiful Far North of New Zealand. The Great Southern Stampede is an exciting new addition to our adventure events, created not only to provide an incredible outdoor experience, but also to raise awareness of the welfare issues facing miniature horses throughout New Zealand.
The Great Southern Stampede is a multi-stage adventure race completed over four days, with participants running or walking alongside their miniature horse. It is designed to be challenging, memorable and, above all, an enjoyable experience for both competitors and their ponies.
We welcome all new participants, from experienced ultra-athletes to those never having done any kind of run or walk event before. Our races are fun, welcoming and inclusive.
